Currencies

Amounts in the currency they were paid in, the workspace's base currency, the ECB's rates and the "estimated rate" badge.

You buy and sell on several Vinted markets (France, the UK, Poland…) and from suppliers outside the euro area. The CRM keeps each amount in the currency it was paid in, and shows it in your workspace's base currency too.

Every currency

An amount is typed in any ISO 4217 currency: euro, pound, dollar, zloty, koruna, rupee… The picker beside the amount offers the workspace's base currency first, then the ones you picked lately.

The decimals follow the currency: two for the euro or the pound, none for the yen, three for the Kuwaiti dinar.

The base currency

Reports, dashboards and totals are in the workspace's base currency, the euro by default.

To change it: Settings › General › Base currency, then Edit. Only owners and admins can; the change goes to the workspace's journal.

Changing the base currency touches no amount: each keeps its own currency, and only its values in the base currency are worked out again, each at its own day's rate.

Exchange rates

Vintarget uses the European Central Bank's reference rates, published every business day around 4 pm, Frankfurt time.

  • Each amount is converted at the rate of its day, and that rate stays: your past margins do not move when today's rate does.
  • Between two currencies other than the euro (a sale in pounds, a purchase in zlotys), the conversion goes through the euro.

The "estimated rate" badge

On weekends, holidays or while the source is down, no rate is published for the day. Vintarget then takes the latest rate known before and shows the Estimated rate badge.

When the real rate comes, the amounts of the last seven days converted at an estimated rate are worked out again.

Hover (or tap) a converted amount to see the amount as paid and the rate's day: "£12.00 ≈ €13.94 on Oct 28, 2026".

A currency without a rate

The ECB does not publish every currency. An amount in a currency without any known rate stays visible, with the Not converted badge, but is left out of the totals in the base currency: they never mix two currencies.

Spending limits

The spending limits of automatic purchases (accepted offers, Auto Cop) are in one currency. A purchase in another currency, on Vinted UK for instance, is converted at the day's rate before it is checked against them; an Auto Cop's maximum too. A purchase in a currency without a rate is still refused.
