Vintarget Connect extension

Connect the Vinted account open in your browser in one click, without giving Vintarget your password, one account per browser profile.

Vintarget Connect is Vintarget's browser extension. It takes the Vinted session already open in your browser and hands it to Vintarget when you click Connect, then confirm in the extension. It is the recommended way to connect a Vinted account: Vintarget never sees your password.

It works on a computer: Chrome (version 127 or later), Edge, Brave and Arc, and Firefox (version 140 or later). Opera (which needs an extra add-on) and Safari are not supported for now: Vintarget says so on the extension's card, and the other methods stay available.

Installing it

The extension is coming to the Chrome Web Store and Firefox Add-ons. Once it is published, Vintarget's Install the extension button will lead straight to its page in your browser's store.

  • Chrome, Brave, Arc: from the Chrome Web Store, Add to Chrome.
  • Edge: from the Chrome Web Store too; Edge first asks you to allow extensions from other stores.
  • Firefox: from Firefox Add-ons, Add to Firefox. Firefox never opens the extension by itself: to confirm, click its icon, or the extensions button (the puzzle piece).
  • Opera, Safari: not supported yet. Connect your accounts with Email and password or by pasting the session, or from one of the browsers above.

Only install Vintarget Connect from your browser's official store (Chrome Web Store, Firefox Add-ons), through that button. A file sent by email or over a messaging app does not come from Vintarget.

Meanwhile, connect your accounts with Email and password or by pasting the session (see Vinted accounts).

Pin the extension (the puzzle-piece icon, then the pin; in Firefox, its gear › Pin to Toolbar): its icon opens it, and shows “1” when a confirmation is waiting. Where the browser has a side panel (Chrome, for one), the extension shows there, beside the page; elsewhere, under its icon.

Connecting an account

  1. Sign in to vinted.fr in this browser profile, with its own account: one account per profile. For one more account, open another profile (see Adding another account).
  2. In Vintarget, open Vinted accounts, then Connect an account.
  3. Choose Browser extension (marked Recommended), then Continue.
  4. Vintarget checks that the extension is there, then Connect this browser's account.
  5. The extension opens by itself and asks Send your Vinted session?, with the address of the site asking: check that it is Vintarget, then Send, in green (Refuse, in red, right below). It opens in the side panel already open beside Vintarget's tab, otherwise under its icon, if that tab is the one in front. If nothing opens (always in Firefox), click its icon, marked “1”: Vintarget reminds you while it waits, with Cancel the request to stop waiting. On another tab, the side panel says where the request waits: Go to that tab. After a refusal (or a cancellation once the request showed), the request does not open by itself for a while: click the icon, and in a side panel already open, See the request.

If this account is already connected to your organization, Vintarget just brings its session up to date: it is reconnected, with no duplicate.

To reconnect an account whose session expired, the same, from its profile: open that account's browser profile, sign in to Vinted with it, then Reconnect › Browser extension › Continue. Or simpler: Reconnect in the extension (see below).

Adding another account

A browser profile serves a single Vinted account: Vinted can link the accounts opened in one profile, and a block can then hit them all. To add a second account, open another profile of your browser, install the extension there and sign in to Vinted with that account. The steps for each browser are in One Vinted account per browser profile.

The extension's Add another account button opens these steps in a tab, your browser already picked when the extension can tell it, with Vintarget's address to open in the new profile. The extension never signs your browser out of Vinted and removes no cookie.

If a profile was already used for another account, the extension warns you and, before sending the session, asks you to tick I understand the risk and send this account anyway. It blocks nothing.

Do not use Vinted's Log out button to switch accounts: it could end, on Vinted's side, the session Vintarget uses, and Vinted's device cookies would stay in the profile.

Your accounts in the extension

Click the extension's icon to see:

  • this browser: the Vinted account open in it, highlighted, and whether it is already connected to your organization;
  • your organization's accounts: username, photo and state (Active, Session expired, Quarantined), as Vintarget last showed them when you opened it (the time is shown, and the date when it was not today);
  • Reconnect, for an expired or quarantined account: if that account is open in the browser, Vintarget opens on its reconnection. If the browser is signed in to no account and this profile was already used for that one (or none), vinted.fr opens for you to sign in, then Vintarget opens again to send its session, once you confirm. Otherwise, the extension tells you to open that account's profile;
  • a warning, when this profile was already used for another Vinted account, with Create a profile, which opens the steps, and Forget the other accounts.

The list comes from Vintarget, open in this browser: the extension never contacts Vintarget's server itself and keeps no session. The list is erased when you sign out of Vintarget, delete your account, leave the organization or your Vintarget session lapses, and when you close the browser. After 12 hours without opening Vintarget, it is no longer shown, and is erased at the latest the next time you open the extension. The extension also takes the theme, light or dark, you chose in Vintarget.

What it can do, and nothing else

Permission askedWhy
cookiesRead the Vinted session's two cookies, access_token_web and refresh_token_web, and see when you sign in to Vinted. It removes none.
Access to www.vinted.frChrome only lets an extension read the cookies of allowed sites: vinted.fr only.
storageKeep in memory, while the browser stays open, the list of accounts Vintarget shows it (ignored after 12 hours); and in this profile, the Vinted user numbers it saw there, until Forget. No session.
sidePanel (Chrome and browsers like it)Show the extension in the browser's side panel, where it has one, opened by a click on its icon; elsewhere, the extension opens under its icon. No access to pages.
Messages from vintarget.frOnly Vintarget's page can talk to it: ask it for the session, or show it your accounts. In Firefox, a short script on Vintarget's pages carries these messages, so Firefox lists access to vintarget.fr, which would also put Vintarget's cookies within its reach: it reads none.

No history, no access to pages or tabs (but Vintarget's own, to bring one forward), no other site, no usage statistics. The details are in the privacy policy.

On a phone

On a phone or a tablet, the extension does not install: Chrome for Android takes no extensions, and neither Safari nor Chrome on iPhone and iPad take this one. Connect the account from a computer: it then serves the whole organization, phones included. Otherwise, choose Email and password in the connection dialog (to reconnect an account, paste the session instead: reconnecting does not go through email).
