One Vinted account per browser profile
Why each Vinted account connects from a browser profile of its own, and how to create one in Chrome, Brave, Edge, Opera, Arc, Firefox or Safari.
With the Vintarget Connect extension, the rule is simple: one Vinted account per browser profile. To connect a second account, open another profile, install the extension there and sign in to Vinted with that account.
Why
Vinted can link the accounts opened in one browser profile. If one of them is blocked, the linked accounts can be too.
- Device cookies stay. Vinted and its anti-bot set cookies that identify the browser. They stay in the profile even when you sign out of Vinted, and the next account finds them.
- A separate profile does not do everything. It changes neither your IP address nor your computer: it removes the most direct link, the shared cookies, without making your accounts impossible to link.
- Sniping is not affected. On Vintarget's servers, each account goes through its own proxy. Only the sign-in in your browser is.
That is why the extension no longer signs your browser out of Vinted to move to another account.
Create a profile
A profile has its own cookies, its own extensions and its own window. The extension's Add another account button opens these steps, with your browser already picked.
Chrome
- Click your profile picture at the top right of Chrome (or
Ctrl+Shift+M,⌘+Shift+Mon a Mac). - Choose Add Chrome profile, then Continue without an account.
- Name it after the Vinted account, then Done: a new window opens in that profile.
Brave
- Click the profile icon right of the address bar (or
Ctrl+Shift+M,⌘+Shift+Mon a Mac). - Choose Add new profile. No profile icon? Menu ≡ › Settings: the profiles section lets you add one.
- Name it after the Vinted account and confirm: a new window opens in that profile.
Edge
- Click your profile picture at the top of the Edge window (or
Ctrl+Shift+M,⌘+Shift+Mon a Mac). - Choose Set up new profile (or Other profiles › Add profile), then Start without your data.
- Confirm and start browsing: a new window opens in that profile.
Opera
Vintarget Connect is not offered in Opera for now: open each Vinted account in a profile of Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc or Firefox.
Arc
- Open a space's menu: right-click its icon at the bottom of the sidebar, or create a new space.
- Give it a new profile, then stay there: two spaces of one profile share their cookies, two profiles do not.
Firefox
- Open the menu ≡ › Profiles › New profile. No Profiles item? Type
about:profilesin the address bar, then Create a New Profile. - Name it after the Vinted account, then open it (Launch profile in new browser in
about:profiles): a new window opens in that profile. - A profile, not a container (Multi-Account Containers): the extension sees only the Vinted session open outside containers.
Safari
Vintarget Connect is not offered in Safari yet: until it is, use a profile of Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc or Firefox. These steps will apply once it is.
- Safari › Settings › Profiles › New Profile (Safari 17 or later), named after the Vinted account.
- In that profile's Extensions tab, turn Vintarget Connect on: Safari allows extensions profile by profile.
- File › New Window › that profile's window: its Vinted cookies stay in it.
Then, in the new profile
- Open Vintarget, then Vinted accounts › Connect an account › Browser extension, and install Vintarget Connect from its button. Extensions do not carry over from one profile to another: each profile has its own.
- Still in that profile, sign in to vinted.fr with the other account, then Connect this browser's account and Send in the extension.
- Keep that profile for that account alone. To reconnect it later, open that profile again: Reconnect in the extension works there as before.
What the extension remembers, and the warning
To warn you, the extension remembers, in this profile only, on your computer, the Vinted accounts it saw there: each one's Vinted user number and when it first saw it. Never a session, never a password, and nothing is sent to Vintarget.
If another account shows up in a profile that already saw one:
- the extension says so at the top of its window, with a link to these steps;
- before sending the session, it asks you to tick I understand the risk and send this account anyway. It blocks nothing: the choice is yours.
To erase this history, open the extension's "One Vinted account, one browser profile" page (right-click its icon, then Options; in Firefox, about:addons › Vintarget Connect › Options; in Safari, Settings › Extensions › Vintarget Connect › Settings; or Add another account in its window), then Forget: the accounts not signed in to Vinted at that moment are erased. In the warning, Forget the other accounts does the same. Removing the extension erases everything. The details are in the privacy policy.
Reconnecting
For an account whose session expired, open the profile it is signed in to, then Reconnect in the extension. From another profile, the extension does not sign you out: it tells you to open the right profile, or to create one for that account.
